Known for his lightning-quick release and fierce competitiveness on the field, Dan’s fan appeal extends the boundaries of football as he’s twice appeared on the cover of Gentleman’s Quarterly (GQ), in the Blockbusters Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Bad Boys II and on HBO’s hit show, ARLI$$. Since retiring in 2000, during the football season, Dan co-hosts HBO’s Emmy Award winning, weekly football show Inside the NFL and CBS’s game day show The NFL Today.

His ongoing work for the community of South Florida is centered on The Dan Marino Foundation for Children’s Charities of South Florida. Also close to Dan’s heart is the Miami Children's Hospital Dan Marino Center, an evaluation and treatment center for children with special needs. In a quest to find care for his son, who was diagnosed with autism, Dan helped create this facility for other children with developmental disabilities and chronic medical problems. Each month, it gives more than 5,700 children access to specialists from Miami Children's Hospital and, most importantly, comprehensive treatment for their special needs.

In 2005, Dan joined an elite group as he was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. As only the 28th quarterback, Dan’s bust will forever stand with the all time greats of the game in Canton, Ohio Dan shares a home in South Florida with wife Claire and their six children.
